Clergy & church leaders

The Diocese of Norwich supports over 300 Clergy and 170 Readers (as well as 300 retired Clergy and 100 retired Readers) in their ministry and leadership in parishes across the Diocese

We train and support priests and deacons in the early years after ordination, as well as providing training to those going into authorised ministry and those considering a calling to ministry.

Our work also covers some of the practicalities of the ministry of ordained ministers: providing and maintaining housing, income, support with church buildings, schools they work in, Parochial Church Councils they commonly chair.  This work is funded primarily by the churches themselves, alongside national church grants and income from investments.
