I should stress that in respect of the WiSpire project the wireless networks use a much lower-powered signal, and the wi-fi system we are proposing is essentially the same as that which exists in most UK homes, hospitals, schools and businesses.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) advise that "Exposures from Wi-Fi equipment are much less than from mobile phones, and are well within international guidelines, so there is no reason why schools and others should not continue to use the technology."
The HPA is the independent body charged with providing advice to both central and local government, the NHS, the Department of Health etc. on public health issues and their press release to the WHO study can be seen at the following link - http://www.hpa.org.uk/web/HPAweb&HPAwebStandard/HPAweb_C/1296687737359
We shall continue to monitor HPA advice and ensure that the WiSpire project is fully compliant with national and international guidelines on public health.
