Memorial Service - Bishop Maurice Wood
A Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance for Bishop Maurice Wood is to be held at Norwich Cathedral on Friday 28 September at 2.30pm.

The service will be led by the Dean of Norwich, the Very Revd Graham Smith and the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Revd Graham James. Addresses will be given by the Rt Revd Timothy Dudley-Smith (Bishop of Thetford from 1981-1991) and the Revd Canon Richard Hanmer (Bishop Maurice’s chaplain from 1971-73). The choir will sing the anthems O Taste and See by Vaughan Williams and Steal Away from an American Spiritual. Bishop Maurice Wood was Bishop of Norwich from 1971-1985. He died on 24th June, shortly before his 90th birthday. The service is open to all who wish to attend.
