Bishop ordains 17 deacons and priests

The Bishop of Norwich ordained 9 new deacons and 8 new priests in Norwich Cathedral on Saturday 30 June.
The new deacons have all just finished their training for ordination and are preparing for their first year of ordained ministry in the parishes to which they are being sent. They are:-
Julie Boyd, whose most recent work was with the Alzheimer's Society - to serve at Dersingham, Shernborne and Anmer
Mark Capron to serve at Pakefield, Carlton Colville and Mutford
Zoë Ferguson, a former Health Care Assistant and a great Zumba enthusiast - to serve in the Trunch Team Ministry
Josephine Fowler, a former Baptist minister who worked for many years for the Prison Service - to serve at Oulton Broad
Andrew Jones, who has worked for 20 years in the Fund management industry - to serve at Sprowston
Margaret McPhee, a former lecturer at Norwich City College, to serve at Mile Cross
James Monro, a former GP whose parents were born in Norfolk, to serve in the Saxon Shore Benefice (Brancaster)
David Smith, a former accountant who met his wife while bell ringing, to serve at Thorpe St Andrew
Graham Wilkins, a scientist, to serve at North and South Wootton
The 8 candidates who were ordained to the priesthood on the same day, have already completed their first year in their training parishes, where they will continue to serve for the next three years. They are:-
Richard Burbidge, serving at Christ Church, Lowestoft
Lynn Chapman, serving at Sheringham
Heather Cracknell, serving at Cringleford and Colney
Wendy Evans, serving at Oulton Broad
Tom Lilley, serving at Attleborough and Besthorpe
Karen Rayner, serving at Ormesby St Margaret with Scratby, Ormesby St Michael and Rollesby
James Stewart, serving in the Great Yarmouth Team Ministry
Jennifer Elliott de Riverol from the Diocese in Europe Serving at All Saints Tenerife, with San Martin de Porres, La Palma.

Due to the retirement of our successful Headteacher we are offering an exciting opportunity to lead our federated schools, to build on the excellent work that has already been achieved and further expand the federation to include other schools in the future.
