Diocesan Directory Online

Posted on Wednesday 21 May 2008
The Diocesan Directory is now available online by visiting the Find a Person area. You can find someone by name, parish, benefice or deanery.

Each month the number of visitors to the Diocesan website is continuing to grow, with 20,000 visits being recorded in April!

After a number of months testing and having received some really encouraging and useful feedback the facility now includes the ability to find nearly everyone in the current Directory, including Clergy, Readers, Church Wardens, PCC Secretaries, Rural Deans, Lay Chairs, Chapter Clerks, Synod Secretaries, Deanery Assessors and Diocesan Staff. Information is given only where permission has been specifically granted and if someone you expect to see is not listed it is likely that they have not yet completed a Data Protection Form, which can be found on the site.

Gordon Darley, the Diocese’s Internal Communications Officer, commented ‘All our research and feedback has shown there is clear demand for making certain personal information easily available to search and find on the web. Not only is it useful for people within the church but also to those interested in visiting a church and wanting to find out more by contacting someone. This facility makes us much more accessible to the communities we serve.’
