The Lent Project 2013

The Lent Project 2013 "Building hope in Uganda"

Posted on Wednesday 24 October 2012
Resources are currently being developed for next year's Lent Project and will be available soon.

Bishop Graham writes:

"Everybody’s heard of Lent.  Most people think it’s a season when you give something up, whether it’s chocolate, cheese, alcohol or some other commodity which makes us fatter. But Lent is really about giving away more than giving up.  It prepares us for Holy Week, Easter and Jesus giving his life away for us.  So during Lent I want to encourage our churches to give something to parts of the world where people’s needs are even greater than here.

"In 2013 the Diocesan Lent Project will be supporting two fantastic charities working in Uganda: one "World Shine Foundation" is building a dormatory for children to live in at their school, the other "The Oasis of Life" a medical centre."

We will let you know when the resources are availiable, but wanted to let you know of this exciting project which we hope your church(es) can support.
