Rise in children and young people attending church

Weekly church attendance of those under 16 in the Diocese of Norwich has risen by 11%.

Figures just released by the Church of England show that the average weekly church attendance of children and young people (those under 16) in the Diocese of Norwich has risen by 11%.

All ages in the Diocese

Average weekly church attendance                 22,100           22,800   +3%

Average Sunday church attendance                19,600           19,800   +1%

Highest weekly church attendance                  32,200           34,000   +6%


These rises in the Diocese of Norwich buck figures from across the country which show weekly and Sunday attendance of under 16’s falling by 4% and no change amongst all ages.
