Maundy Thursday Chrism Eucharist in the Cathedral
A letter from the Bishop of Norwich to all clergy in the Diocese.

I am writing to invite you to share with me in the Maundy Thursday Chrism Eucharist in the Cathedral at 11 o'clock, to renew our Ordination vows and to share in the traditional Blessing of the Oils for use in initiation and healing.  You are invited to robe.

Perhaps you would kindly pass on this invitation to any retired clergy who work with you.  They too are very welcome to share in the service and to robe (surplice and white stole, or scarf).  We hope also that many lay people will take part in this service with us, so do invite members of your family and some of your parishioners to accompany you.  The liturgy will include an opportunity for the laity to commit themselves afresh to supporting you in your ministry as a priest or deacon.

I hope that this gathering on Maundy Thursday will be a truly Diocesan celebration within Holy Week.

With my prayers and all good wishes,

+ Graham Norvic
