Developing lay ministry

Posted on Wednesday 1 April 2009
A letter from the Bishop of Norwich concerning the development of lay ministry within our parishes.

To: Licensed Clergy and Lay Workers
From: The Revd Simon Ward, Bishop’s Chaplain – bishopschaplain@bishopofnorwich.org

Please find below a letter from the Bishop of Norwich concerning the development of lay ministry within our parishes. It's a busy time but please do find a few moments to read and reflect upon this vital aspect of our ministry as we seek to encourage and grow lay ministry. The Diocese is keen to encourage and support the clergy in this task.

May I also take the opportunity to remind you of the Chrism Eucharist at the Cathedral on Maundy Thursday, beginning at 11am. The invitation extends to ALL (all licensed clergy, retired clergy, readers, lay people ...).

I do hope to see many of you next week; maybe I can gradually add just a few more faces to the multitude of names I have been learning over the last few weeks!

Simon Ward
