Clergy must attend a child protection session within their first year of service;
Named Persons are strongly advised to attend as soon as practicable following their appointment.
Readers and other Licensed Lay Workers are also strongly advised to attend a session early in their ministry.
Anyone working with children or young people, within or for the churches of the Diocese of Norwich, are encouraged to attend a session as soon as is practicable.
Whilst it is not a requirement to attend a training more than once, it may be helpful to remind yourself of the details by attending once every 3-5 years.
Employed youth or children's workers should also consider attending the more intensive course offered by SAFE or the County Council Protection Committee - there is a charge for these courses.
At least 4 of these basic training sessions are organised every year. They are held at various venues around the Diocese. If the current sessions are not suitable for you, please contact Tricia Elson and register your interest.
