This eastern region residential conference is open to rural and area deans who have been appointed in the previous 12 months. It aims to help clergy new to this role to explore different aspects of this responsibility and consider how the life of the deanery might be developed.
The conference sessions explore the areas of the job description and its theological context, matters of ecclesiastical law, the role of the Chapter, the Pastoral Committee and the Deanery Synod, the co-operation of Dean and Lay Chair and issues related to spirituality, ministry and mission. This is done in a context of mutual support, shared prayer and worship.
