Not For Sale Sunday
Churches Alert to Sex Trafficking

Sunday 18 May

Not for Sale UK is a campaign which has been initiated by CHASTE – Churches alert To Sex Trafficking across Europe; to raise awareness in the UK that women, children and men are currently being sold in the cities and town of our islands for sexual exploitation.

May 18th 2008 is the second celebration of Not for Sale Sunday a movement to inspire and inform churches and communities throughout the United Kingdom to become revolutionary agents against modern day enslavement in sex trafficking.

The main focus for Not For Sale Sunday May 18 2008 will be:

•  Encouraging people to write to local papers about the sex advertisements they publish asking what sort of community they want to create

•  Encouraging people to write to their local MP about the need to implement legislation criminalising the demand side of ‘pay as you go’ sex. Postcards available from the CHASTE office  - please let me know quantity required

•  The wearing of pink of Sunday May 18 to show we are united in our determination to rid the United Kingdom of this evil

•  The launch of our newest publication The Real Scandal of Sex Trafficking full of resources for worship, education and action - for use by individuals and churches in Lent and on Not for Sale Sunday (see link)
