Clergy Wives' and Husbands' Retreat
Monday 6 October - Wednesday 8 October
2pm Monday - 2pm Wednesday at Bishop Woodford House,Barton Road, Ely CB7 4DXOur retreat this year will be led by Sue Berry, who is a Franciscan and priest in the Church of England based at Compton Durville in Somerset. It is open to anyone whose husband or wife is ordained and currently working in the diocese, stipendiary or non-stipendiary
The Retreat will begin on the Monday 6 October at 2.00pm and will end at after lunch on the Wednesday 8 October. Monday afternoon is our opportunity to get to know each other or catch up with old friends before we go into silence after Night Prayers. If you have not been on a retreat before there will be guidance as to how you might best use the time. There will be times of worship and addresses but everything is optional. Many simply come to be looked after and enjoy the rest, peace and the opportunity for quiet reflection or just sleep! The Cathedral is a short walk from the House and there are pleasant walks in its grounds and by the river. Reading, knitting, embroidery and painting are also popular. The retreat is an opportunity in our busy lives to just pause and be ourselves a while. Admission price: £40.00
