Further Steps in Christian Meditation
Local meditators are running a repeat of the popular four-week course 'Further Steps in Christian Meditation' at the beautiful retreat space at Nogg’s Barn, Little Melton.

There will be an introduction to the teachings of the World Community for Christian Meditation and its founding fathers, John Main and Laurence Freeman. We will practice meditation in the group and have opportunities for group discussion. There will also be talks on body posture in prayer; meditation in relation to the ancient monastic practice of Lectio Divina (the prayerful reading of sacred scripture); and the experience of spiritual community.


Following on from this will be Meet the Mystics, which will look at the historical context of contemplative prayer through the eyes of six mystics: Meister Eckhart, Hildegard of Bingen, Julian of Norwich, John of the Cross, Thomas Merton and Bede Griffiths. These sessions will take place on Saturday mornings over six months from the first Saturday in November.
