Norfolk Cell Training Event

Committed to Growth, Committed to Community HALF DAY TRAINING

Paul Bayes, the Church of England's National Mission and Evangelism Advisor is coming to Norwich Diocese to lead a half day's training as part of the "Committed to Growth" initiative. "Committed to Church, Committed to Community" looks at how small-group church/ cell church can be effective in building community relationships. While aimed primarily at active members of cells, those still thinking about beginning cells or other kinds of small group church are welcome to attend and will find the material accessible and relevant.

Canon Paul Bayes has been working for the Archbishops' Council since 2004 where he advises on all aspects of mission and evangelism including “fresh expressions of church”. Before that he was involved for ten years in cell-church planting in Totton, a working-class town to the west of Southampton . Here he led the growth of a cell church in parallel with existing traditional churches, the different kinds of churches working well together.  He is one of the consultants for ANGLICAN CELL UK, a network of CofE cell churches and an entertaining and thought provoking speaker.

The training day takes place on Saturday  January 26, 2008 starting at Newton Flotman Village Hall, Grove Way, Newton Flotman from 2pm- 5.30pm

Then there is a fish and chip supper before The Gathering which includes contemporary worship at Newton Flotman Church from 6.30-8pm, with music from “Jacob’s Ladder” worship band and more teaching from Paul Bayes.

The cost is  £7 per person for the training afternoon to include supper or £5 without supper.  There is no charge to attend the evening
