The Diocese of Norwich is Committed to Growth
in discipleship, service and numbers.
The Bishop of Norwich writes: "I invite everyone to share in our Diocesan commitment to growth.
In practice this means:
• our growth as disciples of Jesus Christ
• our growth in service to God and our neighbours
• our growth in the number of people worshipping God and learning to be Christ's disciples
This is the mission to which we believe God is calling our Diocese.
I hope your benefice will be part of it - and gladly.
We've met some remarkable financial challenges in our Diocese in recent years - bigger ones than some people thought we could ever manage.
But God enables us to do more than we think possible. That's his nature. Now we can concentrate more fully on mission and growth. God wants us to grow. He wants his Church to grow.
These web pages contain some examples of what all this may mean in practice. Not everything is appropriate everywhere, but all of us can be Committed to Growth in different ways.
Please use this material in PCC meetings, parish away days, in study groups, house groups and deanery synods - or any other appropriate setting - to get everyone thinking and praying. What's here is no rule or burden, but an encouragement to grow in Christ.
I hope every benefice will produce a Growth Plan.
God bless you and help you grow in faith and love.
The Rt Revd Graham James, Bishop of Norwich

We anticipate that each Deanery will be holding a special service so that you have the opportunity to meet to encourage each other and worship together.
