Dreaming Of A Holy Night is the title of Graham Kendrick's new Christmas album and he is inviting groups of local churches working together on Hope ’08 to consider if this might make a great way of celebrating the Gift of Hope together.
Graham will bring his band and singers, technical support that needs to travel with the ‘show’, and supply a choir director who will oversee and support a local choir director. Previous such initiatives have shown that a choir recruited from across local churches is a fantastic catalyst for town wide friendship, unity and prayer, and this would offer something of really good quality to invite families and friends to.
Sport is everywhere - in the papers, on the TV, in your town and at your schools. Even if we left sport behind after education in favour of the gym, or watching other people play football, it's a part of our everyday life.
Here are some ideas that can be developed in using sport throughout Hope 08 and into the future.
Events:
You can plan your own events, or take advantage of what's already happening. From holding a locally based football tournament or running a sports camp, to watching a match on a big screen at Church or organising a Play station football competition there are loads of ways to get involved.
Coaching:
This is a really fun way to be involved. You could coach in schools, clubs or just do your own thing.
On the streets:
Just the same as usual on the streets detached work, but with sport! You could play football in the local car park with whoever’s around, or play basketball at the park.
Take advantage of the Hope 08 highpoints and school holidays to launch some of these events.
More ideas for all of these are available on the national website.
