Mission

Jesus said to those who followed him 'As the Father has sent me, so do I send you.'   Mission is about being sent by Jesus to carry forward the work that he began in all aspects of the life of people in society.

These pages focus on how that calling is carried out in the Diocese of Norwich in different ways especially through the Committed to Growth initiative.

Committed to Growth

The Diocese of Norwich is Committed to Growth in discipleship, service and numbers. The Bishop of Norwich writes: "I invite everyone to share in our Diocesan commitment to growth". In practice this means:

This is the mission to which we believe God is calling our Diocese.

Fresh Expressions of Church

A Fresh Expression is different way of 'being church' for our changing culture, shaped for those who are not yet part of any church. You can learn more about Fresh Expressions, how to get involved and see the many examples already in our Diocese in the Fresh Expressions section of this website.

Mission Support Team

The Mission Support Team are available to meet with others (groups or individuals) to help think through the issues of being a Mission Shaped Church and to offer support and experience to anyone contemplating outreach or fresh expressions of church.  Although they are not experts they will bring their own experience and knowledge to the discussion in order to help you think through and plan for your own situation.  More details on the Mission Support Team page.
